What We Do

Behavioural Resilience is a specialist psychological consultancy supporting individuals and organisations operating in highly pressurised or hazardous settings. We take evidence from the behavioural sciences and build individual and organisational resilience to improve safety, productivity and wellbeing.

Protecting Programme Participants

Duty of care is not a static goal. It evolves with public expectation, legislation and with the commercial development of the programme format in order to maintain creativity. Effective deliver of care is an exercise in collaboration especially between health professionals, programme participants and producers.

In 2020, Dr Gould was appointed to ITV’s Duty of Care Operating Board which is chaired by the Chief Executive and comprises senior leaders across the company, who consider processes both on screen and across ITV.

Behavioural Resilience has extensive experience of devising and assisting productions operating in the UK and internationally to implement assessment and support arrangement to manage any specific risks to mental health to programme participants and crew.

Contact Behavioural Resilience if your production company requires expert advice on duty of care in broadcasting.

The Tribunal and Court

There is now ample evidence that people who are exposed to work related stress are likely to be less effective at work, more likely to be absent from work and to suffer poor mental health.

Research commissioned as part of an Independent Review into Mental Health calculated the cost of poor mental health in the workplace to be £33bn – £42bn with the costs per employee ranging from £497 – £2,564.

Behavioural Resilience is a clinical psychology consultancy that provides evidence-based psychological support services for work related stress.

However, sometimes mental health issues can escalate to Tribunal or Court level.

In these cases, an independent expert may be required to assist the Tribunal or Court on matters related to someone’s mental health, the possible causes of such problems, liability or an individual’s condition and prognosis.

Behavioural Resilience can provide Expert Witness services for the Tribunal and Court. Our medico-legal services cover two main areas:

  • Civil/Personal Injury such as accidents and medical negligence
  • Employment Law including the Equality Act, Racial Discrimination, Fitness to work, and Occupational Mandated Psychological Assessments

Behavioural Resilience has particular expertise in high performance and safety sensitive occupational settings and with trauma and stress-related clinical disorders.

Contact Behavioural Resilience if your business or legal practice requires an Expert Witness for any mental health related matter.
